If you are having issues where mods do not show up in game but you are able to install and assign them, then try one of the following
Delete the globalsettings.json file
This file holds the installation path for your mods, it may have become corrupt or the path within unreadable. Deleting this is a quick way to resolve the issue as Flashing Lights should recreate this when you access the mod browser
- Press the windows key + R to open the run console
- Type in %AppData%/..\Local\mod.io and press ok.
- Delete the globalsettings.json from within this folder
Modify the path within the globalsettings.json file
If you find that the issue still occurs, or if you just want to modify the installation directory for the mods, you can do the following.
- Press the windows key + R to open the run console
- Type in %AppData%/..\Local\mod.io and press ok.
- Open the globalsettings.json file in notepad
- You should see the following {"RootLocalStoragePath":"C:\\Users\\Public/mod.io"}
- Edit this so it resembles the following {"RootLocalStoragePath":"D:\\folder1\\folder2/modinstallationfolder"}
- Feel free to change the drive letter and folder names. Make sure you use \\ for each parent folder except the last which requires a /
Issues with Anti-Virus Programs
If mods are still not showing up after doing the above, try turning off any anti-virus software or whitelisting Flashing Lights. We have been made aware by some players that AVs are preventing mods from showing correctly in game
