Redistributables not installing or preventing the game from launching

During initial installation, certain redistributables should also be installed. However, these may fail to install correctly at times.

Below are some possible solutions

Reinstall redistributables from the games installation directory

• Open steam and go to your library
• Right click on Ranch Sim and then go to properties
• Go to installed field and then browse
• When in the installation location, go to Engine/Extras/Redist/en-us/
• Run the UEPrereqSetup_x64 file

Reinstall redistributables from Steams own redistributable section

• Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared_CommonRedist (Or the main installation area for steam)
• Open the folder "vcredist" and then go to "2022"
• Run the application "VC_redist.x64"
• If this installs correctly, go back to Ranch and try running it again
• If it fails, then it is likely that Windows itself may have issues

Download and install directly from official sites

• You can download a copy of the redistributables required directly from microsoft from the following site
• https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170
• In this case we would recommend using the latest version and the X64 architecture

Run game as administrator

• Sometimes running the game as admin can also solve installation issues related to redistributables.
• Quit Steam completely and make sure it isn't minimised.
• Right click on Steams desktop icon or app listing in the start menu.
• Then select "run as administrator" then launch Ranch Sim as normal.
• If this isn't working, then try running the game directly as Admin.
• You'll need to locate the installation directory for the game (Right click on the game in Steam, go to properties, then local files and browse)
• Then right click on the games main executable file and then select "launch as administrator"
